Thomas Rainford CPA, MST
Tom has been in public accounting since 2002. He began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Boston before working at Rosenfield Raymon Pielech PC (Now Clifton Larson Allen) in New Bedford and on Martha's Vineyard for six years. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in accounting from Bentley College in 2002, and later returned to Bentley to earn a Masters Degree in Taxation. Tom and his father went into business together in 2009, opening the firm of Rainford & Rainford PC.
Tom lives in Plymouth with his wife Kate, who is also a CPA, and their two sons PJ and Scott. Together they enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends, especially on the beach.
Alan F Rainford CPA
Alan has almost 50 years of accounting experience under his belt. After graduating from New Bedford Institute of Technology (now UMass Dartmouth) in 1963, Alan moved to Amherst and went to work as an IRS auditor in Holyoke before going to work as professor of accounting at Greenfield Community College and starting his own public accounting practice in 1970. He taught at GCC for over 35 years before retiring in 2005. He continues to work with clients from his home office, as he has done for over 40 years.
Alan lives in Amherst with his wife Sheila. They have three adult children and five grandchildren. They spend as much time as they can traveling to see their grandchildren. They also enjoy working on their cottage in Franklin, NH which will be completed someday...
Lucas Rhodes CPA, MSA
Lucas has been in public accounting since 2012. He began his career at BlumShapiro in Quincy before joining Rainford & Rainford in 2013. He graduated the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and spent several years working in the lending industry and management consulting before pursuing a graduate degree. He graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2012 with a Master’s of Accountancy. He has since returned as an adjunct faculty member, teaching accounting and finance to undergraduate students.
Lucas lives in Plymouth with his wife Sarah, and their three kids Evan, Tessa, and Alexander. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing golf, skiing, hiking and spending time with his family.
Stephen King EA
Steve will be celebrating his 40th tax season in 2019. He started with Rainford & Rainford in 2016. He is a graduate of Bentley College with a bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and started his career working in partnership with his father for over 20 years. To this day he still retains some of those clients providing more than 40+ years of advice and service. Throughout his career he has concentrated on small businesses and individual tax clients. Steve has also worked for a major tax software company and the regional Massachusetts CPA firm of Shepherd & Goldstein. Just prior to joining Rainford & Rainford he worked for the national firm of CliftonLarsonAllen with a concentration on individuals & small businesses on Martha’s Vineyard.
Steve lives in Dartmouth, MA and has two adult daughters. The oldest lives in MA and works in the HR department for a health company. The youngest lives in California and is a Production/Art Director working on movie and television productions
Samantha Magina CPA
Samantha graduated from Northeastern University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a focus in Accounting and Finance. She has worked at several well established tax firms over the years, starting her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Private Client Services. Since becoming a CPA in 2009 Samantha’s focus has been working with privately held businesses and their owners.
Samantha lives in Westford with her husband, Craig and their two children, Anabela and Sebastian. When not working with clients on tax matters Samantha can be found shuttling kids back and forth from school and engaging the kids in activities. She loves to spend her time talking about and selling real estate, bowling and most any activity that involves sunshine, warmth, and family.
Jeanne Avila, Firm Manager
Before joining the firm in 2011, Jeanne had over 20 years experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and management. She graduated from the University of Dartmouth with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Jeanne has extensive experience in the set up of accounting systems, accounting software, overall office practices, procedures and general office management. Past positions include Tax Preparer, General Manager, Sales Manager, Treasurer, and more recently Controller for Karam Financial Group of Fall River.
Jeanne lives in Dartmouth with her husband Michael. Her pride and joy are her three grown children, Daniel a Computer Scientist, Kelsey a Behavioral Specialist and Zachary who is completing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Jeanne is happiest when spending time with family and friends, listening to music, riding her bike, and being near or on the ocean, especially paddling her kayak!
